Defederico’s strikes sets up Mumbai City to a 1-0 win over Pune City

Mumbai City FC defeat FC Pune City 1-0 in their starting game of the 2016 Hero Indian Super League before an 8,189-strong crowd at the Balewadi Stadium in Pune on Monday evening. The single goal of the game came in the 69th minute after an excellent touch by Diego Forlan set up Matias Defederico who utilized the completing touches to bag all three points for his team.

After a cagey begin to the game that saw each side cancel one another out in the starting exchanges, FC Pune City registered the very first shot of the game on goal in the 10th minute through an Arata Izumi header that Roberto Volpato gathered perfectly in Mumbai’s goal.
