Fans at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda saw their home team’s first loss of the second season of the Hero Indian Super League ISL FC Goa were drubbed 0–4 by the Marco Materazzi-mentored Chennaiyin FC on Sunday evening. With the season’s hat-trick by ace striker Stiven Mendoza, Chennai get their 1st game of the season, with Elano too one.
Chennaiyin FC upped the pressure on the home side from the word go. The game received off to a jolting Thoi Singh from the right flank with a shot straight to Mendoza in the box however fortunately for Goa the ball was cleared effectively by goalie Elinton Andrade. Their , however, didn’t keep for long with Mendoza spearheading the activity. A beautiful through ball in the 10th min by skipper Elano was by the Colombian striker who after resistance drove it Chenniyin FC off the mark at the Fatorda Stadium.
